This is possible due to the use of the exclusive "Maxiblock® guide system and bottom bar". This feature makes the Maxiblock® ideal for the enclosure of large patio and entertainment areas.

More than 11 years ago, the Blockout System was created, we believed it to be the best solution to these problems. Being insulated aluminium window shutters, we also believed our product to be the superior of all other shutters on the market.

In order to prove their claim and to satisfy the very high standards imposed on the product by their own research and development team, they put the Blockout shutter through a rigorous set of independent tests. The University of NSW tested the shutters' insulation properties for heat, cold and noise.

Schlegal Pty Ltd tested for wind loadings and water penetration and Hawker De Havilland tested the breaking strains of components that were especially made to combat the harsh UV rays in Australia.

The tests showed the shutter to be the strongest, most secure of its kind, and yet wherever the tests suggested the potential for further improvement - no matter how marginal - we pursued it. The Blockout research team continues to seek out components of the very highest quality, implementing new technologies as soon as they become available, developing and refining their existing shutter designs as part of an ongoing process of improvement. These efforts have resulted in a considerable number of improvements, one of which is the Maxiblock® Guide and Bottom Bar System, which represents the ultimate in security shutters.
